Built on Peace,
Shared with Purpose

The Nordic began as a home — a place where our family found stillness, grew together, and fell in love with Minnesota lake country. It became something we simply couldn't keep to ourselves.

How it Began

A Home That Gave Us Everything

In 2020, our family made a deliberate choice. We left the pace of the city and moved to Nisswa, Minnesota — to grow our family, deepen our faith, and build a life rooted in something slower and more intentional. The home on Clark Lake became the backdrop for some of the most meaningful years of our lives. We added two babies within those walls. We watched our children discover the lake. We found the kind of quiet that's hard to put into words.

When life eventually called us back toward family in the Twin Cities, we faced an impossible decision: sell the home that had given us so much, or find a way to share it. We couldn't let it go. So we began hosting — and in doing so, discovered a new calling. Watching guests arrive tired and leave restored told us everything we needed to know.

The Nordic grew from there. We purchased Hubert, just across the street and began renovating. West Twin Lake came next. And with it, a vision for what a truly elevated, family-owned lakehouse rental in the Brainerd Lakes area could look like.

We wanted others to experience what this place had given us — rest, beauty, and the rare feeling of being exactly where you're supposed to be.

What We Believe

Three Things We Never Compromise

Every decision we make — from the linens we choose to the furniture our kids help pick out — comes back to these three things.

01

Beauty That Restores

We believe beautiful spaces do something to the soul. When a room is thoughtfully designed — natural materials, warm light, clean lines — it invites you to slow down. Every Nordic property is designed with this in mind: not to impress, but to restore.

02

Cleanliness Without Compromise

We travel as a family of seven. We know what it feels like to walk into a rental and immediately sense whether someone truly cared. We have high standards because our guests deserve them — the kind of clean that lets you exhale the moment you arrive.

03

Genuine Hospitality

We're not a management company. We're a family who loves these homes and wants your stay to be exceptional. That means responsive communication, thoughtful details, and the kind of care that only comes when someone actually cares about the people staying in their home.

The People Behind It

A Family of Seven

The Nordic is truly a family business — and we mean that literally. We are a family of seven, homeschooling our five children and bringing them along on every step of this journey. They help us design the spaces, choose the furniture, and understand what makes a home feel like a home.

We also love to travel. We've stayed in luxury rentals around the world and we carry those high expectations into everything we create. We know what it feels like when a space is truly exceptional — and that standard is the one we hold ourselves to.

Our faith is woven into how we run this business. We believe in stewarding these properties with excellence, caring for our guests with sincerity, and building something that reflects our values — not just our aesthetics.

A great rental should do more than shelter you. It should restore you.
